Animals/Organisms
Oyster-Ostrea edulis
Fact:Is It a Male or Female Oyster?Just like warm-blooded animals, oysters are either male or female. But, oysters have gonads that generate eggs, as well as sperm. So, oysters have the ability to change their sexes, which they do, at least once. (The gonads, by the way, are considered to be the tastiest part of the oyster.)

Fact:Snails' bodies produce a thick slime. Because of this slime, they can crawl across the edge of a razor and not get hurt.

Fact:Turtles are frequentally depicted in folklore as easy going, patient, wise creatures. often symbolic for longevity and stability, tranquility, wisdom, endurance, steadfastness. in chinese mythology they are one of the four fabulous animals or the most prominent beasts,almong with the unicorn, phoenix, and dragon, it is of the water element ,and known as the ruler of the north. Turtles smell though their chins ,by flapping the loose skin under their chin the throat moves air over the Jacobsen's organ whick allows them to sense fragrence. live on every conent except for antartica.

Facts:The common Black Ants and Wood Ants have no sting, but they can squirt a spray of formic acid. Some birds put ants in their feathers because the ants squirt formic acid which gets rid of the parasites. The Slave-Maker Ant (Polyergus Rufescens) raids the nests of other ants and steals their pupae. When these new ants hatch,they work as slaves within the colony. The worker ants keep the eggs and larvae in different groups according to ages.

Facts:One medium, whole, white, raw mushroom contains 4 calories. One portabella mushroom contains 22 calories.

Bird of Paradise-Cicinnurus respublica
Facts:Birds-of-Paradise are relatively pest free although aphids, caterpillars, grasshoppers, scales and snails are occasional problems.



White Periwinkle-Vinca Alba
Fact:Periwinkle, Vinca major - aka. greater periwinkle was once used topically for inflammatory skin conditions. It is related to a plant known as rose periwinkle, which is used in the treatment of leukemia, but it should not be used in home remedies. I have heard of the use of White periwinkle, but do not currently have herbal facts on it.

Coconut-Cocos nucifera
Fact:Yes,u can pick off a coconut and plant a coconut and make it grow. The coconut is the seed. You will have to have much patience though - it can take up to a year for them to germinate.
